GET LUCKY. Have you ever wondered how some people just seem to get lucky? Everything that they want just seems to fall at their feet!. Well I don't subscribe to luck! In my view they are simply demonstrating a skill that the 'unlucky' just don't possess. If the 'unlucky' knew how and put in a little practice the things that they want would just fall at their feet as well. Wouldn't they? Fortunately we have ways of modelling these 'luck experts' and of sharing these skills with others. Ready to get lucky?, here are the highlights: The world is full of infinite opportunity. The 'art of luck' is filtering for the ones that are desired and being able to immediately act on them. We can all remember times when for some odd reason we keep seeing a person we know - only to find that it is not them. For some reason our 'pattern matching' part is filtering through all the faces we pass and bringing to our attention the ones that are a close match. Recall how easy and effortless it is when it happens. Opportunity is just faces in the crowd. Let's set up a filter to find them. Start off with a good sense of what you want. When I say good sense I mean a deep sense and one that your mind-body wholly agrees with. Lucky people know what it will be like to have it. They feel it, see it, hear it, taste it, smell it, as if it exists now. This will give the pattern finding part of you the information that it needs to do its job well. Do you believe that you can have it? Saying what you want out loud three times first with your hand on your head, then on your heart and then on your stomach is a good indicator. Pay close attention to what comes when you do this; unconscious objections come from little words that pop in from nowhere (your internal critic), uncomfortable feelings (such as when someone gives you a present that you don't like and you have to thank them for it!), or maybe pictures in some form. Discover what the purpose is behind each objection in turn. They will be there for you for a good reason. Maybe it's time to give another method that doesn't interfere with the goal a go. So - you have the goal in mind, you have nothing blocking your progress and you're ready to go. One last thing: think of a time when you acted on instinct - consider what it was like when you did this. Relive it for a while to get a deep sense of what it was like - hold the thought, vision and feeling and imagine it as a lens through which you can see your goal. Know that they belong together and that this 'lens' will serve you well now that you are ready to act the next time opportunity comes by. When you do this, reward your filter, with a nice thank you, when you notice that your new luck behaviour is working well - no matter how small initially. The more you reward it the more it will perform for you. Good luck! |
