Denise Taylor
I'm Denise Taylor and a noted career expert, helping people make sense of their careers and working lives. People want to have satisfaction and work with what they are naturally good at. I help them to understand this - what their natural abilities are, how their personality and values makes them unique and then work together to help people find a new job or adapt their current one to match as closely as possible.
I'm a chartered occupational psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society. I have focused on career development issues for over 20 years and my specialist knowledge is backed up with Diplomas in coaching and counselling and Masters degrees in occupational psychology (focused on career development) and business administration (MBA).
My studies and research have focused on career development issues; from both a personal perspective and helping organisations to motivate and support those who are not high flyers but add significant value to a company.
I see career management from both sides, from helping individuals to be successful in their job search and at interview and from being an assessor and interviewer, working for a wide range of organisations from the government to charities and high tech to heavy industry.
I have successfully worked with well over 500 clients on a one to one basis, who choose me for both the depth and breadth of my knowledge and my ability to move people on from uncertainty to decisions.
In my own career I achieved my goals and climbed the corporate ladder, being the first woman and youngest person to become a staff counsellor within the Post Office and reaching Assistant Director. I moved from a specialist to strategic generalist role. Then one day I realised I may have career success but I wasn't leading the right life for me, hence setting up my own company - Amazing People in 1999.
I am qualified to use a range of highly reputable assessments including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Firo-B and Firo elements, Highlands Ability Battery, Strong Interest Inventory, 16PF5, OPQ and the Morrisby. To bring these to a wider audience I launched an on line testing service at www.personalassessments.co.uk in 2004.
What drives me is helping people to develop themselves and be everything they can be - following a path that is right for them rather than what someone else wants them to do.
I look forward to helping you reach your potential.
